ABSTRACT
There are two independent serotonin (5-HT) systems of organization: one in the central nervous system and other periphery. 5-HT affects feeding behavior obesity system. On hand, peripheral also may play an important role obesity, as it has been reported that regulates glucose lipid metabolism. Here we show intraperitoneal injection to mice inhibits weight gain, hyperglycemia insulin resistance completely prevented enlargement intra-abdominal adipocytes without having any effect on food intake when a high fat diet, but not chow diet. increased energy expenditure, O2 consumption CO2 production. This novel metabolic is critically related shift profile muscle fiber type from fast/glycolytic slow/oxidative soleus muscle. Additionally, dramatically induced increase mRNA expression peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor coactivator 1α (PGC-1α)-b PGC-1α-c The elevation these gene expressions by was inhibited treatment with (5HTR) 2A or 7 antagonists. Our results demonstrate relief disorders accelerating skeletal
