ABSTRACT
Aberrant expression of classical cadherins has been observed in tumor invasion and metastasis, but its involvement cervical carcinogenesis cancer progression is not clear. We investigated E-, P- N-cadherin significance squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN). This retrospective study enrolled 508 patients admitted to Women's Hospital, School Medicine, Zhejiang University with lesions between January 2006 December 2010. Immunochemical staining was performed 98 samples normal epithelium (NC), 283 CIN, 127 early-stage SCC. The association cadherin clinical characteristics survival the evaluated by univariate multivariate analysis. found gradients decreasing E-cadherin increasing P-cadherin from NC through CIN were significantly associated parameters indicating poor prognosis shorter patient survival. Interestingly, we very low levels positive SCC tissues that related or cancer. Pearson chi-square tests showed inversely correlated (E-P switch), expression. More important, exhibiting an E-P switch had highly aggressive phenotypes poorer than those without Our findings suggest P-cadherin, staining, might be useful diagnosing for predicting
