ABSTRACT
Purpose The primary aim of this study is to determine the principal somatic and motor determinants for elite climbers. Methods Twenty climbers were examined [age: 28.5±6.1 years].The runners divided into two groups based on their climbing level, according International Rock Climbing Research Association (IRCRA). Elite represented a 8b-8c Rotpunkt (RP) level (n = 6), advanced an 7c+-8a RP 14). following measurements assessed: height, weight, lean body mass, upper limb length, arm span, forearm, arm, thigh calf circumference. BMI, Rohrer ratio, Ape Index also measured. tests specific test finger strength, strength test, muscle endurance (hanging from 2.5 4 cm ledges). In addition, pull ups used measure resistance fatigue. Results recorded significantly higher values than (129.08 vs. 111.54 kg; t(18) 2.35, p 0.03) (33.17 25.75 ups; 2.54, 0.02). circumference was lower in that (34.75 36.93 cm; 3.50, 0.003).
