ABSTRACT
The principal purpose of the study was to evaluate in vitro potential ability fungal isolates obtained from painted layer frescoes and surrounding air induce symptoms fresco deterioration, associated with their growth metabolism, so that risk such deterioration can be precisely assessed appropriate conservation treatments formulated. Biodegradative properties tested microfungi were qualitatively characterized through use a set special agar plates: CaCO3 glucose (calcite dissolution), casein nutrient (casein hydrolysis), Czapek-Dox minimal medium (pigment secretion); broth (acid alkali production). Most (71.05%) demonstrated at least one degradative properties, Penicillium bilaiae as most potent, since it positive all four. remaining (28.95%) showed no capabilities hence considered unlikely partake complex process murals via mechanisms. results clearly indicate utilization fast simple plate assays provide insight into biodegradative deteriogenic fungi allow for separation allochthonous transients, prerequisite precise assessment amount posed by thriving mycobiota mural paintings.
