ABSTRACT
Intracavernous pressure (ICP) measurement is a well-established technique for assessing the erectile function, which was performed by cannulating either crus or shaft of penis. However, there are no studies concerning experimental performance two cannulation sites yet. The aim this study to compare measuring outcomes using different sites. To validate capacity our study, both normal and castration-induced dysfunction rat models were conducted. Fifty adult male Sprague-Dawley rats randomized equally into groups: an intact group castration group. Five from each firstly underwent stimulation parameters detect optimal responses. residual in further assigned subgroups (n = 10 per subgroup) according (crus corpus cavernosum). ICP values compared between groups after interventions. mean maximum recorded at 2.5V frequency 15 Hz. under tended show similar groups. success rate monitoring significantly higher penis (100% vs. 70%; P 0.02). Our data suggested that method penile could serve as better alternative rats.
