ABSTRACT
Active and Healthy Ageing (AHA) is the process of optimizing opportunities related to health, participation, safety in order improve quality life. The approach most often used measure AHA Rowe Kahn's Satisfactory model. Nonetheless, this model has limitations. One strategic objectives WHO Global Strategy Action Plan (2016) measurement. Our were compare two models assessing further results by country sociodemographic variables.This was a cross-sectional, observational analysis representative sample general population aged 50 years older Europe. data analysed obtained Study Health, Retirement Europe (SHARE). dependent variable its dimensions, measured using Kahn (AHA-B) authors' based on definition (AHA-BPS). A descriptive multivariate binary logistical regression developed.The consisted 52,641 participants (mean age 65.24 [SD = 10.18; Range 50-104], 53.2% women). prevalence AHA-B 23.5% (95%CI 23.1%-23.9%). In AHA-BPS model, 38.9%. both models, significant variations observed between countries, distributed along north-western south-eastern gradient. variables associated with absence advanced age, female sex, death spouse, low educational level, lack employment, financial status. Comparing strength association (85 older) four times greater model.Our showing differences these provide evidence that does not penalize more likely characterize from health promotion perspective.
