Results of prevalence survey Uganda found high (570/100,000) people over 65. We focused treatment outcomes to understand epidemic better. conducted retrospective analysis data from facility registers Kampala City period 2014-2015. analyzed 2014-15 cohort with respect age, sex, disease class, patients' human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) directly observed therapy (DOT) status, type facility, compared findings (≥60) younger (<60) groups. Of 15,429 records, 3.3% (514/15,429) were patients. The success rate (TSR) among patients (68.3%) was lower than that non-elderly (80.9%) overall TSR 80.5%, (12,417/15,429) Kampala. Although less likely test positive HIV young (AOR 0.39; 95% CI 0.33-0.48, p<0.001), they had two-fold higher unfavorable 2.14; 1.84-2.72, p<0.001) more die while 1.86; 1.27-2.73; p = 0.001). However, there no statistically significantly difference between HIV-positive HIV-negative Compared patients, have markedly poorer outcomes, although TB/HIV co-infection rates group lower.
