ABSTRACT
Objective The aim of this study was to compare in vivo vs ex liver stiffness rats with acoustic radiation force impulse (ARFI) elastography using the histological findings as gold standard. Methods Eighteen male Wistar aged 16–18 months were divided into a control group (n = 6) and obese 12). Liver measured shear wave velocity (SWV) ARFI technique both vivo. degree fibrosis, steatosis inflammation evaluated findings. Pearson's correlation coefficient applied relate SWV values parameters. Results acquired significantly lower than those obtained (P < 0.004). A higher value between fibrosis assessment observed (r 0.706, P 0.002), 0.623, 0.05). Conclusion Assessment yielded significant experiments. We consider that by minimising influence possible sources artefact we could improve accuracy measurements ARFI.
