ABSTRACT
Background Complications during pregnancy, childbirth, and following delivery remain significant challenges that contribute to maternal morbidity mortality, thus affecting health systems worldwide. Group prenatal care (GPC) is an integrated approach incorporating peer support education provides in a group setting. The GPC was piloted district of Bangladesh measure the feasibility effectiveness compared individual care. Understanding experiences women receiving this grouped crucial understand perspectives, perception, acceptability programme among mothers, which are lack Bangladesh. objective present study core perspectives mothers who participated sessions their pregnancy period. Methods A qualitative research used GPC. total 21 in-depth interviews were conducted targeting pregnant attended all recommended sessions. Face-to-face by trained experienced interviewers using specific interview guideline achieve detailed responses. Thematic analysis analyse data. Results Mothers appreciated setting expressed preferences towards Themes included comprehensiveness GPC, prescheduled appointments reduced waiting time, social gathering, coping with common discomforts, relationship service providers, birth preparedness, recommendations from participating mothers. themes conveyed overall positive suggestions for further betterment programme. Nevertheless, reported involved suggests inclusion specialist care, post-partum family planning advice will be more beneficial model.
