ABSTRACT
A broad panel of potentially amplifiable microsatellite loci and a multiplex system were developed for the Amazonian symbol fish species Arapaima gigas, which is currently in high danger extinction due to disorderly fishing exploitation. Several factors have contributed increase this threat, among we highlight lack genetic information about structure taxonomic status species, as well accurate tools evaluation effectivity current management programs. Based on gigas’ whole genome, available at NCBI database (ID: 12404), total 95,098 unique perfect microsatellites identified, including their proposed primers. From panel, containing 12 tetranucleotide markers was validated. These are valuable research many areas bioinformatics, ecology, genetics, evolution comparative studies, since they able provide more management, conservation wild populations aquaculture.
