ABSTRACT
Autonomic nerve fibers in the liver are distributed along portal tract, being involved regulation of blood flow, bile secretion and hepatic metabolism, thus contributing to systemic homeostasis. The present study investigated changes biopsy specimens from patients with normal liver, viral hepatitis non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, relation clinical background. areal ratio total area was automatically calculated for each sample. fiber ratios (NFAR) sympathetic were significantly lower affected by chronic hepatitis, particularly this also case advanced fibrosis. However, degree inflammatory activity did not affect NFAR either whole nerves or nerves. Comparison samples obtained before after antiviral treatment HCV demonstrated recovery improvement
