ABSTRACT
The relationship between severe anemia, red blood cell transfusion and Neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) remains controversial. purpose of this study was to determine the association anemia RBC with NEC in neonates. The clinical characteristics were observed 467 infants different birth weights from January 2012 July 2020. A 1:1 ratio case-control performed very low weight (VLBW) infants. Severe transfusion, confounding factors, including maternal perinatal complications, feeding, antibiotics administration collected both groups. Univariate multivariate analyses used investigate effects on risk NEC.The day onset mortality inversely associated weight. In VLBW infants, adjusting for other within 72 h [OR = 2.404, P 0.016], 24 4.905, 48 5.587, 0.008], 2.858, 0.011] increased NEC.Both appears increase early prevention treatment strict evaluation indications enhanced monitoring after is encouraged NICU.
