A low direct electrical signal attenuates oxidative stress and inflammation in septic rats

ABSTRACT
Electrical stimulation is proposed to exert an antimicrobial effect according studies performed using bacterial and cell cultures. Therefore, we investigated the effects of electrification on inflammation in septic rats. Twenty-eight male Wistar albino rats were divided into 4 groups: healthy control (C), electrified (E), sepsis (S), (SE) groups. Staphylococcus aureus (1 x 10 9 colonies) 1 ml medium was intraperitoneally injected produce a model. The E SE groups exposed low direct electrical signal (300 Hz 2.5 volts) for 40 min 6 h after infection. Immediately second application, blood tissue samples heart, lung, liver collected. An antibacterial observed signals ameliorating changes histological structure tissues, pH, gases, viscosity count, activities some important enzymes, oxidative stress parameters, apoptosis group compared S group. Low application exerts antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory antiapoptotic due induction electrolysis body fluids without producing any damage.
