ABSTRACT
Species of the genus Russula are key components ectomycorrhizal ecosystems worldwide. Nevertheless, their diversity in tropics is still poorly known. This study aims to contribute knowledge species classified subsection Roseinae based on specimens recently collected tropical montane rainforests western Panama. A five gene multilocus phylogeny nuclear markers ITS nrDNA, MCM7, RPB1, RPB2 and TEF-1α was constructed identify systematic position 22 collections from Four new species, cornicolor, cynorhodon, oreomunneae zephyrovelutipes formally described illustrated. None four sister they more closely related North American or Asian species. Two newly were associated with tree Oreomunnea mexicana, while other two Quercus All so far only known mountains
