ABSTRACT
This study investigated the agreement of intraocular pressure measurements using rebound tonometry and applanation in response to atmospheric changes a hyperbaric chamber. Twelve eyes 12 healthy subjects were included this prospective, comparative, single-masked study. Intraocular performed by followed multiplace chamber at 1 Bar, 2, 3 4 Bar during compression again 2 decompression. Mean differences between 1.6, 1.7, 2.1 mmHg 3, respectively 2.6 2.2 Lower limits ranged from -3.7 -5.9 upper -0.3 1.9 mmHg. Multivariate analysis showed that independent (p = 0.79). measured shows systematic difference compared tonometry, but is not influenced up Agreement magnitude change devices suggests viable for assessing changes. Future studies should be designed consideration expected IOP values provided two devices.
