ABSTRACT
Environmental contamination of chromium (Cr) has gained substantial consideration worldwide because its high levels in the water and soil. A pot experiment using oil seed crop (rapeseed (Brassica napus L.)) grown under different tannery wastewater (0, 33, 66 100%) soil foliar application zinc (Zn) iron (Fe)-lysine (lys) been conducted. Results revealed that a considerable decline plant growth biomass elevates with addition concentrations wastewater. Maximum height, number leaves, root length, fresh dry leaves were recorded at maximum level (100%) compared to plants without (0%) Similarly, contents carotenoid chlorophyll, gas exchange parameters activities various antioxidants (superoxidase dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), catalase (CAT) ascorbate (APX)) also reduced significantly (P < 0.05) increasing concentration (33, In addition, combined Zn Fe-lys accumulation uptake toxic Cr, while boosting essential micronutrients such as Fe tissues plants. concluded exogenous chelated amino acid successfully mitigate Cr stress B. napus. Under field conditions, supplementation these micronutrient-chelated acids may be an effective method for alleviating metal other crops.
