ABSTRACT
Plant roots are essential for water and nutrient absorption, anchoring, mechanical support, metabolite storage interaction with the surrounding soil environment. A comprehensive understanding of root traits provides an opportunity to build ideal architectural system that improved stability yield advantage in adverse target environments caused by quality degradation, climate change, etc. However, we hypothesize quantitative indicators characterizing still need be supplemented. Features describing growth distribution, until now, belong mostly 2D or reflect changes a depth layers but rarely considered spatial region along circumferential direction. We proposed five new quantify dynamics architecture (RSA) its eight-part orientations visualization technology which consists in-situ field samplings, RSA digitization, reconstruction according previous research based on experiments conducted paddy-wheat cultivation land three fertilization rates. The experimental results showed space is mainly restricted cylinder diameter 180 mm height 200 at seedlings stage. There were slow fluctuating trends mean values within single volume soil. fluctuation was indicated each sampling time, decreased gradually time. Furthermore, treatment N70 N130 could similarly impact heterogeneity. Therefore, concluded seedling stage cultivation. It great significance quantification crop targeted breeding programs methods innovation research.
