ABSTRACT
We present a system for carrying out small batch reactor oxygen consumption experiments on water and sediment samples environmental questions. In general, it provides several advantages that can help researchers achieve impactful at relatively low costs high data quality. particular, allows multiple reactors to be operated their concentrations measured simultaneously, providing throughput time-resolution data, which advantageous. Most existing literature similar batch-reactor metabolic studies is limited either only few samples, or time points per sample, restrict the ability learn from experiments. The sensing based very directly work of Larsen, et al. [2011], technology widely used in literature. As such we do not delve deeply into specifics fluorescent dye mechanism. Instead, focus practical considerations. describe construction operation calibration experimental systems, answer many questions likely come up when other choose build operate themselves (questions ourselves had first built system). this way, hope provide an approachable easy use research article construct tailored ask own questions, with minimum confusion missteps along way.
