Analysing food farming vulnerability in Kalimantan, Indonesia: Determinant factors and adaptation measures

ABSTRACT
As a result of plans to relocate the Indonesian capital city East Kalimantan province, is expected develop rapidly and surrounding regencies provinces will become food support areas for new capital. However, vulnerability farming in concern that must be addressed ensure security. This study aims assess at regency level island Kalimantan, determinant factors compose adaptation measures can reduce vulnerability. Socio economic, climate, water land data are sorted analyzed represent sensitivity exposure index (SEI) adaptive capacity (ACI). Locations with ‘High’ ‘Very High’ levels interview sites total 150 respondents. The results interviews strengthen analysis which helps determine condition farmers vulnerable locations. indicated 14 regencies/cities. Floods climate-related disasters most often affect surveyed (46%), followed by droughts (30%) pest attacks (24%) significant impacts (49%). identification becomes basis decision-makers, local practitioners, highlighting challenges proposing local-specific strategies.
