ABSTRACT
Background Gastric cancer represents a highly aggressive form of malignant tumor originating from the epithelial cells lining gastric mucosa. Despite notable improvements in treatment approaches over last few years, associated mortality rate continues to be considerably high. Therefore, there is pressing requirement for dependable biomarkers that can utilized predict and monitor prognosis, as well formulate targeted strategies patient groups at high risk. Methods We conducted an analysis data collected patients who were diagnosed with underwent radical gastrectomy Shanxi Cancer Hospital June 2017 2018, follow-up gathered five-year duration until 2023. Patient information was sourced hospital’s monitoring system. The focused on variances effectiveness D-dimer against different markers through Cox stratification analysis. marker exhibited most pronounced impact selected novel combined indicator. Furthermore, we examined how this indicator influences overall survival (OS) outcomes following surgery using multivariate regression Results revealed effect value D_Dimer-CA724 Middle group post-surgery found 1.42 (1.13–1.78), p = 0.003 (<0.05), comparison Low group. For High group, after 2.11 (1.65–2.68), < 0.001. Additionally, trend test results indicated 1.46 (1.29–1.64) 0.001, demonstrating statistical significance. When compared both showed markedly poorer prognoses, increased risks 42% 111%, respectively, highlighting significant finding clinical practice. Conclusion integrated measure CA724, referred D-dimer_CA724, serves independent predictor postoperative cancer, superior predictive capability individual markers. In settings, exhibiting elevated levels D-dimer_CA724 tend experience worse prognoses surgery. This holds potential widespread application promotion within
