ABSTRACT
This paper aimed to evaluate the dynamics of tillering, tiller density and structural characteristics Brachiaria brizantha, Panicum maximum Cenchrus ciliaris under a cutting regime. The utilized design was randomized blocks with six treatments (cultivars) three replications. The evaluations were conducted from May September 2011, data grouped into two periods, rainy season beginning dry season. The greatest population observed in Massai cultivar, averaging 1,019 tillers.m -2 .The mortality rate higher for Mombaça less Piatã cultivars. The highest values forage mass, percentage leaf blades relations between green mass:dead mass brizantha cultivars.Panicum cultivars have shown be promising cultivation transition areas Atlantic Forest Caatinga biomes Northeastern Brazil.Cenchrus are productive environments without restriction abiotic factors.
