ABSTRACT
Prolactin is mainly secreted from the lactotroph cells in anterior pituitary, whose production controlled by dopamine. can be also produced extrapituitary tissues, such as mammary glands, placenta, uterus, prostate, brain where it may act an autocrine or paracrine factor. has some isoforms with different molecular weight, locations and biological functions. While not obligate lymphopoietic hormone, prolactin effects on immune system. Nevertheless, hematopoietic murine bone marrow thymus express receptors, but precise frequency unknown. The receptors expressed that mediate natural immunity, including NK macrophages. In conditions which glucocorticoid levels are elevated, reduce immunosuppressive of glucocorticoids, thus providing a mechanism leads to homeostatic normalization cellular
