ABSTRACT
Toxoplasmosis is a rare disease caused by intracellular protozoan parasite, Toxoplasma gondii.Though most patients with toxoplasmosis are asymptomatic, congenital in the fetus can cause ocular involvement such as chorioretinitis and central nervous system including intracerebral calcification, nystagmus, hydrocephalus microcephaly.Also, these brain lesions seizure secondarily.Our patient was diagnosed toxoplasmosis, based on toxoplasma-specific serologic test typical clinical symptoms, chorioretinitis, cerebral palsy.Her imaging findings revealed not only multifocal encephalomalacia, but also calcification left perihippocampal region.Her epileptogenic zone defined mesial temporal lobe hippocampus side semiology, electroencephalogram neuroimaging single photon emission computed tomography 18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose positron-emission tomography.Her seizures were refractory to multiple anti-epileptic drugs.We report who showed intractable epilepsy.
