ABSTRACT
Synthetic colorants may have adverse health effects, therefore, it is necessary to ensure controlled use of these in various alimentary products. In this study, 54 samples six brands orange jellies were analyzed for the determination ‘Sunset Yellow’ color by High Performance Liquid Chromatography. The results showed that value Sunset Yellow one brand jelly exceeded Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institute (BSTI) value, values four other within range BSTI was absent last one. One yielded more than twice maximum times from European Union. These indicated there a need monitor amounts synthetic used food products protect public serious effects related such chemicals create awareness consumers as well policy makers.
