ABSTRACT Background: Malaria was still a serious health problem in Indonesia. It widely spread many areas with various level of infection. In 2007, Annual Incidence (AMI) in Muara Enim district, 24.77 0 / 00 . higher than National Annual (AMI 10 ). The research aimed to find out risk factors that influence malaria incidence Method: This study designed as case control or retrospective study. As the study, there were fifty four (54) positive people involved. Rapid survey employed select 54 respondents from negative malaria. Thus, they totally 108 respondents. Result: found three species anopheles mosquitoes suspected vectors, which are An. nigerimus, latifer and maculatus. Those at puddles, rice field, pool, river, public toilets. Factors contributed water bodies ponds around house, not using bad net coil avoid mosquitoes. Conclusion: Most respondent had used bed while sleeping as District.
