ABSTRACT
Complex systems are typically difficult for students to understand and computer simulations offer a promising way forward. However, integrating such into conventional classes presents numerous challenges. Framed within an educational design research, we studied the use of in-house built simulation coagulation network in four pharmacy undergraduate classes. Drawing upon audio recordings small group discussions, focus interviews, class observations, identified implementation challenges related to: adaptation align with student needs; compromises learning design; classroom infrastructure. These findings can serve guide teachers staff developers on common that likely arise from meaningfully realistic contexts.
