Rock-breaking characteristics and impact resistance mechanism of ridged PDC cutters

ABSTRACT
In recent years, the high impact resistance of ridged PDC cutters has made them widely used in hard heterogeneous formations. However, theoretical studies on are still lacking. this paper, we conduct linear cutting tests and found that surface cutter can prevent accumulation compaction rock debris, which significantly reduces force mechanical specific energy (MSE), thereby increasing efficiency. Then, when analysed vibration amplitude, frequency rate change load simulation, approximate Weibull distribution. Moreover, amplitude smaller than those planar cutter, weakens effect during process. The research results article help us evaluate degree with different shapes rocks under conditions.
