ABSTRACT
Abstract The Lamiaceae family contains bioactive medicinal compounds mostly used as ornamental plants and traditional medicine, well in the food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical sectors. Common uses include treating high cholesterol, diabetes, respiratory diseases, heart disease, food poisoning. These were linked to their components numerous biological properties, including antimicrobial antioxidants. goal of this study was investigate phytochemicals activities petroleum ether extract Thymus capitatus plant from two different regions eastern Algeria (Souk ahras Guelma), volatile oils using a Clevenger device then analyze by GC-MS. results revealed that total amount phenolic better Souk Ahras (3.41 mg GAE g −1 ), while flavonoid higher region Guelma (26.31 QE ). Following quantification HPLC, we observed extracts contained most standard variable proportions. Furthermore, tested antioxidant activity electrochemically with cyclic voltammetry method. We concluded highest content recorded (3.17 have also evaluated chemical method 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl, showed exhibited effectiveness terms IC 50 % values. When extracting oils, it found yield
