ABSTRACT
In view of the great interest in researches on new applications for electronic conducting polymers (ECP), especially polyaniline (PAni) and polypyrrole (PPy), this work aims at the study of an alternative method for metallization of conventional polymers (CP). The metallization process consists of preparing a composite ECP/CP by direct oxidation of monomers using appropriate chemical oxidants followed by direct electrodeposition of copper onto the composites. The conducting polymers were characterized by FTIR, Scanning Electron Microscopy and Cyclic Voltammetry. A more detailed study was done with PAni by Open Circuit Potential experiments.
