ABSTRACT
Abstract At present, Polylactic acid (PLA) is one of the most used biodegradable polyesters. The good properties and its biodegradability make that PLA can replace fossil fuel derived polymers in different applications. be synthesized by using methodologies. Among them, widely forms on an industrial scale are direct polycondensation Lactic ring-opening polymerization cyclic Lactide. final obtained dependent stereoisomers raw materials (Lactic and/or Lactide) conditions employed to polymerize them. Therefore, comprehension synthetic mechanism crucial control stereoregularity PLA, which turn results improvement polymer properties. So, distinct mechanisms for synthesis catalysts systems (organometallic catalysts, cationic catalyst, organic bifunctional catalysts) examined this review.
