ABSTRACT
Abstract
The evolving landscape of public health necessitates a capable and qualified public health workforce. Investing in education and training is crucial for building and maintaining this workforce. This article explores the role of the essential public health functions (EPHF) in shaping public health education. The EPHFs provide a framework for defining core competencies and developing curricula for public health. The WHO-ASPHER Roadmap and the Core Competency Framework guide the professionalization of the public health workforce. The new ASPHER Core Curriculum further supports educational institutions in aligning their programs with these competencies.
