ABSTRACT
Abstract This research aimed to investigate the morphological changes of sandy soils with a varying number freeze–thaw cycles (FTCs). The primary objective was characterize in particle morphology and establish relationship between FTCs these changes. Two variables, namely amount variation coefficient variation, were introduced as parameters soils. Statistical analysis performed using PIP9.1 dynamic image analyzer quantify characteristics soil particles. results showed that five characteristic particles conformed normal distribution. shape primarily blocky, appeared more broken regular an increase FTCs. coefficients filling exhibit “conjugate” other indicators, each indicator decrease gradually Principal component employed integrate information on shape, resulting new index established findings this study provide better understanding under conditions offer insight into stability conditions.
