ABSTRACT
The variation of quantitative characters the first lower molar was analysed in nine species Far-Eastern voles Alexandromys from Russian fauna.Canonical analysis revealed that main differences were associated with oeconomus-like fusion, and clearly differentiates A. oeconomus, mongolicus gromovi other species. The results UPGMA cluster based on average Procrustes distances did not agree recent molecular studies.Discriminant coordinates 19 landmarks showed percentage correct classifications samples vary 50% to 100%.Linear measurements together shape features can be used for identification following species: mongolicus, A.sachalinensis.Shape enamel loops grey identification, but phylogenetic analysis.
