ABSTRACT
Age has a detrimental effect on reproduction and as an increasing number of women postpone motherhood, it is imperative to assess biological age in terms fertility prognosis optimizing treatment individually. Horvath's epigenetic clock mathematical algorithm that calculates the human cells, tissues or organs based DNA methylation levels. The clock, however, was previously shown be highly inaccurate for endometrium, most likely because hormonal responsive nature this tissue. aim study determine if epigenetically endometrium correlated with chronological age, when strictly timed same time point menstrual cycle. Endometrial biopsies from nine were obtained two consecutive cycles, both LH surge (LH + 7) additionally, peripheral whole blood samples analyzed. Using Illumina HumanMethylation 450 K array we found significant correlation between participants, although endometrial accelerated by comparison age. Moreover, similar ages pairs biopsies, indicating biopsy does not alter following In conclusion, long are cycle, could powerful new biomarker reproductive aging endometrium.
