ABSTRACT
We measured linkage disequilibrium in mostly noncoding regions of Cryptomeria japonica, a conifer belonging to Cupressaceae. Linkage was extensive and did not decay even at distance 100 kb. The average estimate the population recombination rate per base pair 1.55 × 10(-5) <1/70 that coding regions. discuss impact low rates large part genome on association studies.
