ABSTRACT
Three types of biomasses (miscanthus, spruce, and a mixture different woodchips species) were tested as low-cost adsorption media for an industrial agro-industrial effluent, typically vinasse. Influences effluent dilution, working temperature, time duration studied. Kinetic modelling studies proposed. Ratios at ambient temperature without dilution expressed in g dry vinasse per biomass 1.0, 0.85, 0.65 miscanthus, mixture, respectively. An increase the from 10 °C to 50 led decrease viscosity favored its penetration biomasses. Maximal adsorbance matter was obtained 20 mPas. Whatever experimental conditions required during processes, miscanthus showed best affinity Pseudo-second order intra-particle diffusion model well described process. This study indicates that conventional could be used natural adsorbent by-products such
