ABSTRACT
To compare the time interval of procedure, possible complications, post-operative pain levels, additional analgesics, and nurse satisfaction in ultrasonography-guided standard caudal block applications. This retrospective study was conducted Celal Bayar University Hospital, Manisa, Turkey, between January December 2014, included 78 pediatric patients. Caudal applied to 2 different groups; one with ultrasound guide, other using method. The procedure significantly shorter application group compared ultrasound-guided (p=0.020). Wong-Baker FACES Pain Rating Scale values obtained at 90th minute statistically lower (p=0.035). No significant difference found on parameters groups. should not be considered as a distinctive mark by anesthesiologists, because this short seconds. Ultrasound guidance for applications would neither increase nor decrease success treatment. However, needed cases where detection sacral anatomy is difficult, especially palpations.
