ABSTRACT
The effect of feeding ochratoxin A (OTA) contaminated diet (379.6 and 338.1 μg/kg in starter grower diets) on production traits, lipid peroxidation some parameters the glutathione redox system were investigated weaned piglets over a seven-week period. Feed intake feed conversion ratio (FCR) did not differ significantly, but first phase (0–28 days) daily weight gain was significantly lower fed OTA-contaminated diet. Lipid peroxidation, as measured by amount malondialdehyde, content peroxidase activity, change blood plasma red cell haemolysate OTA-loaded group, while malondialdehyde increased liver markedly kidney feed. Glutathione studied organs two groups activity animals both kidney. results suggest that use feed-stuffs with low levels OTA for seven weeks cause marked differences traits or plasma, cells kidney, significant changes occurred homogenate.
