ABSTRACT
Aim of the study In recent decades, Kosova in general and Llapi River catchment have experienced landscape transformation which resulted Land Use Cover (LULC) changes, mainly flat terrains where most country’s population is concentrated. Other landscapes changes too, but on a small scale. The aim was to identify driving forces behind it. Material methods Spatiotemporal were made using GIS techniques. data from Copernicus Monitoring Service (CLMS) with spatial resolution 100 m for three different years: 2000, 2006 2018 analyzed. DEM 10 used estimate slope steepness catchments’ altitude. Population settlements inside represented features downloaded Statistical Agency Kosova, those include numbers official censuses between 1948 until 2011, while ArcMap 10.8 environment analysis. Results conclusions With technique analyzing other open source data, we found that agricultural land decreased area by 9.53%, increase artificial surface 160.87%, or expressing absolute values, total areas 2000 37,827 ha, 34,334 meaning 0.3ha per capita, less than European level. order protect land, zoning use plans should be implemented.
