Organized Sports Participation Among Children Aged 6–17 Years: United States, 2020

ABSTRACT
Sports team participation has been associated with increased levels of physical activity (1) and improved mental health among children adolescents (2,3). Disparities in sports have found across age, sex, race, disability, socioeconomic subgroups (4-6). This report describes national estimates parent-reported organized during the past 12 months aged 6-17 years. Data from 2020 National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) are analyzed by sociodemographic characteristics.
