The (Plain Language, Engagement, Empathy, Empowerment, Respect) model is new model, grounded communication patient safety literature, teach (IP) professionals who will be working IP caregivers. Methods: contains three sets video clips demonstrating good bad skills health patients/caregivers. Accompanying videos are worksheets critique videos, facilitator prompts help lead discussion about demonstrated. Finally, learner postassessment which reflects how well they grasped components concepts, an evaluation process. Additional readings extensive references also provided. Results: was incorporated into existing education (IPE) activity profession students either their second year doctor medicine (MD) program, third pharmacy (PharmD) or fourth bachelor science nursing (BSN) program. IPE sent all student participants (119 124 PharmD, 78 BSN students) completed surveys were received from 273 321 (91% response rate, 94% PharmD 62% rate). Over 70% students, 58% agreed strongly that valuable activity. Discussion: can tailored complement any curriculum levels care disciplines. In addition, utilizes concepts familiar most educators, communications applies those use clinical setting where commonly function. easily integrated simulated practice (such as course) actual experiences (either inpatient outpatient situations) provide opportunities improvement team skills.
