The is ideally suited for an active curriculum in which are accustomed to preparing ahead time working through questions cases the classroom. Methods: Students arrive session having read a series prereadings. They first take closed-book individual readiness assurance test (IRAT) their grasp foundational information. then grouped into teams five seven complete group (GRAT), identical IRAT. remain as they application exercise consisting case vignette number complex multiple-choice questions. Results: To date, 199 making up 34 have completed TBL module, with average score 80.10% (range: 50%-100%) IRAT, including four perfect scores; 99.26% 96%-100%) GRAT; 57.60% 20%-80%) exercise. Discussion: We feel that enables be more learners compared our previous didactic structure featuring PowerPoint-driven lectures. advantages this (1) less faculty preparation needed, (2) actively engaged material, (3) no traditional lecturing required. hope method will deliver material effectively allow us utilize precious we spend work clinical reasoning skills nuances care.
