ABSTRACT
This work reports a series of measurements the attenuation UMTS and GSM mobile phone signal by buildings structures in city Rome. The context research is concern about exposure population resident to electromagnetic fields emitted radio base stations access network. aim analyze conservative method measurement for outdoor-to-indoor attenuation. takes intrinsically into account presence apertures like doors windows on wall buildings, materials around within buildings. are carried out instrumentations able demodulate station antennas RF carriers. Four different topologies urban considered: reinforced concrete between late 1800 early 1900th century, historical inner Rome steel glass structures. Measurements range 6 - 27 dB. A numerical analysis door/windows has been computed results discussed. show that depends material walls objects indoor located.
