ABSTRACT
A comparative analysis of different recent filtering antenna designs is conducted. Based on the requirements of modern wireless applications such as radar system, medical monitoring, and firefighter tracking, filtering antenna design need be more efficient. Many challenges on filtering antenna design have been put. These challenges are in terms of filtering antenna size, cost, impedance bandwidth and polarization. To overcome these issues, many filtering antenna designs have been proposed. In this paper, a comparison of past research work is carried out. Various design methodologies of filtering antenna such as slot line antenna, frequency selective surface antenna, slotting waveguide antenna, metasurface antenna, and dielectric resonator antenna are discussed and evaluated. From this survey on recent trend of filtering antenna, some possible solutions for filtering antenna design enhancement are presented.
