ABSTRACT
Malnutrition affects billions of individuals worldwide and represents a global health challenge. This study aimed to determine the prevalence malnutrition (undernutrition or overweight) among mother-child dyads in children under 5 years old Brazil 2019 estimate changes this from 2006 2019. Individual-level data Brazilian National Survey on Child Nutrition (ENANI-2019) Demography Health Women Children carried out (PNDS 2006) were analyzed. outcomes included overweight mother child, undernourished double burden malnutrition, i.e., child having any form undernourishment (stunting, wasting, underweight). Prevalence 95% confidence intervals (95%CI) estimated. Most women (58.2%) 9.7% overweight, 6.9% stunted, 3.1% mothers 2.9% underweight. The dyad was 7.8% statistically higher Southern (9.7%; 95%CI: 7.5; 11.9) than Central-West (5.4%; 4.3; 6.6). stunted 3.5%, with significant difference between extremes mother's education [0-7 vs. ≥ 12 years, 4.8% (95%CI: 3.2; 6.5) 2.1%, 1.2; 3.0), respectively]. Overweight increased 5.2% 7.8%, 2.7% since 2006. seems be growing problem, lower formal education, maternal age, South Region more vulnerable.
