Gregarina cubensis is an apicomplexan parasite that infects the intestinal lumen of death's head cockroach (Blaberus discoidalis). This study evaluated effects 3 temperatures on development and viability G. cubensis. Three groups B. discoidalis were inoculated with oocysts maintained at 15, 27, 40 C. The alimentary canal was removed from cockroaches in each group every 24 hr until mature gametocysts found rectum or feces, prepared for histological examination. establishment more rapid 15 C than 27 Development did not progress beyond intracellular stage.
