SUMMARY Experiments are described which show that the in vitro synthesis of corticosterone under influence ACTH is inhibited by hydrocortisone, prednisolone and dexamethasone relative potency these three substances corresponds to their clinical anti-inflammatory activity. It suggested a direct adrenal inhibitory mechanism plays physiological pharmacological role, addition regulatory controlling steroid function mediated pituitary.
