ABSTRACT
Following the opening of eleven medical schools in Korea 1980s, issues standardization and accreditation education came to forefront early 1990s. To address community’s concern about quality education, Korean Council for University Education Ministry conducted a compulsory school evaluation 1996 see whether were meeting standards or not. The was “relative evaluation” rather than an “absolute evaluation.” Accreditation Board Medical (ABMEK), established 1998, mere voluntary organization, but with full support community, it successfully completed its first cycle evaluations on all 41 from 2000–2004. history activities, including those ABMEK, not well recorded. In 2004, ABMEK changed name Institute Evaluation (KIMEE) as corporate body government paid much attention activities. 2014, officially recognized KIMEE Higher Evaluation. most important lesson learned ABMEK/KIMEE is importance cooperation among education-related organizations, Association.
