ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND: Anhedonia is characterized by a reduced ability to anticipate, experience, and/or learn about pleasure. This phenomenon has transdiagnostic nature and one of the key symptoms mood disorders, schizophrenia, addictions, somatic conditions. AIM: To evaluate genetic architecture anhedonia its overlap with other mental disorders METHODS: We performed genome-wide association study on sample 4,520 individuals from Russian non-clinical population. Using available summary statistics, we calculated polygenic risk scores (PRS) investigate relationship between psychiatric or phenotypes. RESULTS: No variants significant were identified. PRS for major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia significantly associated anhedonia. Conversely, no associations found anxiety anhedonia, which aligns well existing clinical evidence. None phenotypes attained significance level after correction multiple comparisons. A nominal was determined omega-3 fatty acids, type 2 diabetes mellitus, Crohn’s disease. CONCLUSION: complex architecture, presence in diseases normal conditions may be due predisposition schizophrenia.
