ABSTRACT
The objective of this study was to determine whether the use electromagnetic field (EMF) 50 Hz frequency and magnetic induction 0.25 T could make for successful inactivation a phytoplankton species, namely, marine microalgae Tetraselmis suecica two bacteria strains; Escherichia coli Enterococcus faecalis.A number laboratory tolerance experiments with selected organisms performed; each microorganism treated various lengths time; 1, 5 10 minutes, in three media special regards conductivity.Bacteria were exposed high, moderate extremely low conductivity media, media.The microbial viability checked by counting bacterial colony forming units, as well alive dead stained cells.It found that time exposure EMF had profound effect on T. only it did not affect E. or faecalis at all. Sažetak Cilj ovoga istraživanja bio je utvrditi može li elektromagnetsko polje (EMP) frekvencije i magnetske indukcije od 0,25 uspješno inaktivirati jednu morsku fitoplanktonsku vrstu; mikroalgu te dvije vrste bakterija; faecalis. Provedeni su laboratorijski pokusi tolerancije odabranih organizama na polje. Svaki mikroorganizam tretiran u različitim razdobljima; minuta, tri različita medija s obzirom vodljivost. Bakterije bile izložene mediju visoke, umjerene ekstremno niske vodljivosti, mikroalge vodljivosti.
